Have you read reviews of Disney Star Wars Land and have no idea where to begin or how to plan your day? There is so much information and confusion regarding Disney World park openings, fast passes, advance reservations, and so on. Just the sheer thought of planning a Disney World trip can leave you breaking into cold sweats.
Raise your hand if you've been there with planning a family trip that involves a ton of moving parts (e.g., flying, driving, packing, reservations, etc.). It can be exhausting.
So I'm going to break down Disney World Star Wars Land (AKA: Galaxy's Edge) when traveling with kids.
After reading this post, you will feel excited and organized because you will know how to navigate Disney World Star Wars Land with ease and confidence which will allow you to enjoy time with your family.

What is Disney Star Wars Land?
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is basically a playground for all things Star Wars. It's a true immersion experience where you feel like you are walking around planet Batuu. You will notice stormtroopers and member's from the resistance walking around interacting with guests. It's really fun listening to the stormtroopers interact with the little kids asking them if they are part of the resistance.
Where is Disney Star Wars Land?
Walt Disney World Star Wars galaxy Edge is located in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios was on the relatively small side compared to Disney World's other parks, however, given the two new land additions (Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story), the park is much larger.
So if you have been accustomed to scheduling half-day to visits to Hollywood Studios, I suggest now taking a full day to explore the park and to take in the shows.

Best time to arrive at Galaxy's Edge?
Like most things in Disney World, it's best to get there early in the morning so that you can take in the sites without crowds upon crowds of people. It tends to be extremely crowded during mid-day and it can be boiling under the Florida sun.
If you are unable to make it during the morning hours, then the next best time to go is in the evening. It's an amazing experience to see Disney Star Wars Land lit up during the evening.
What to know before you go to Disney World Star Wars Land
Examine the crowd levels for the month and day of the week that you will be visiting. Touring Plans is a great website that goes over Disney World crowd levels so this is a great tool to look at before any visit to a Disney World Park.
Download My Disney Experience app before going. You'll need to create a login (or use your Disney login if you already have one).
If you never used the app before, I suggest exploring the app prior to visiting so that you know your way around it. It really is a handy tool that allows you to find the latest ride wait times, order food in advance (highly suggest), and locate the restrooms, etc.
What to do in Disney World Star Wars Land?
Now you know the best time to visit, what exactly is there to do? Well, there are plenty of sites to see, things to make, and rides to ride.
However, prior to visiting, you need to prioritize and create a plan. I suggest making Fastpasses for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, decide if you want to make a droid and/or lightsaber, and where you want to eat.
ProTip- Currently there are no fast passes for Rise of the Resistance. If you want to ride this ride, plan on being at the park BEFORE opening because you will need to sign up for a boarding group via My Disney Experience app (while you are inside the park). Check out more on the current boarding procedures here. There is limited availability for boarding groups so may the force be with you.

Tips for Traveling with Kids to Star Wars Land
If you have smaller kids, push them in a stroller because Star Wars Land is towards the back of the park. You don't want tired legs before you get there.
Make activity reservations in advance (Droid Depot, Savi's Workshop).
If you make a droid, then have the Droid Depot deliver your package to your Disney World hotel room so that you don't have to carry the box around.
If you are not staying on Disney World property, then consider making the droid later in the day so that you don't have to carry the box around.
The droid depot also sells backpacks for your droid in case you want to carry it with you. It's really cute to see the droids popping out of the backpacks and interacting with other droids throughout the Star Wars Land.
Makes reservations for Olga's Cantina in advance. The drinks and snacks are very festive!

I always purchase souvenirs before going to any of the Disney parks because it will save money and time.
Before visiting Galaxy's Edge, I like to bring lightsabers (or princess wands) with us because they are inexpensive and add more park time versus browsing the gift stores with children who are tired and who can't make up there mind.
I've been there and done that too many times so I always make it a point to pack a few gifts and bring them with us to the park.
Snacks can be costly in the parks so I always travel with a backpack and bring snacks to the park.
This has been my go-to backpack because it's lightweight, water-resistant, has a lot of pockets, and can fold up into a bag. Plus it holds a TON of snacks!
