Explore Boat Rentals in Naples Florida

Updated: Jul 14, 2022

There is no better way to explore Naples Florida than by boat. There is so much to see while you're on the water and renting a boat can be exciting for the whole family.

You get to explore areas that most land lovers would not otherwise see. Plus it's a great time to connect with your family and friends while enjoying the nature of Southwest Florida.

Maybe you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, family trip, or holiday? Either way, renting a boat in Naples is a great excuse to spend time with the ones you love.

This brings to mind that there are several boat rentals in Naples Florida to choose from. You can find boat rentals in Naples Florida located in three sections: North Naples, Central Naples, and South Naples.

First, check out the list of boat rentals and decide which location you would prefer to rent from. You might want to take into consideration where you are wanting to explore before settling on a boat rental in Naples Florida.

Maybe you would prefer to head north to check out areas around Lovers Key Beach State Park or maybe you want to head south of Naples to the beautiful Keewaydin Island. Or you might be looking for a sunset cruise around Naples Bay.

Also, consider what types of boats and the length of the boats that the boat rental company offers. Ask yourself what type of boat and length would you will feel comfortable docking?

How many people will be joining you on your boating day in Naples will also depend on what type of boat you will choose. For larger families, opt for a pontoon boat or a hurricane boat that can comfortably fit families and ALL the boating necessities. You'll be surprised by how many bags and coolers you will end up bringing for a boating day.

If your heading out for a backwater fishing trip, then a center console boat might be more enjoyable for your crew.

Looking for Boaters Safety Course?

If you are interested in taking a boaters safety course then we recommend BoatTests101 which provides an online boaters course so that you can be out boating before you know it. For Florida residents, BoatTests101 (which is approved by Florida Fish and Wildife Conservation Commission) also offers Florida Temporary Boat Certificate Course if you don't already have your boating license.

What Do You Want To See While Boating In Naples?

If you are planning on renting a boat, there are many places that you can explore in Southwest Florida. Some families may want to explore secluded beaches, others might opt for fishing in the back waterways near the mangroves.

More adventurous families might consider exploring 10,000 Islands which are located south of Marco Island.

There is something for everyone to do while on the water. If you are lucky you might spot a dolphin or two!

What To Do On The Boat In Naples Florida

There are plenty of things you can do on the boat with the family. You can swim, fish, snorkel, explore a sandbar or go shelling on a beach. The waters in Southwest Florida are mostly warm and calm throughout the year so it's a great time to relax and get in some quality family time.

Keewaydin Island

We personally enjoy morning and afternoon boating where we can anchor the boat and enjoy lunch together. We often go exploring near 10,000 Islands and no trip is complete without checking out the dome house.

If you want to dine out for lunch or dinner, then consider heading south from Naples Bay to Marco Island. There are several restaurants with docks so that you can enjoy a fun day dining out. If you don't feel comfortable with docking, then I suggest arriving at your dining spot earlier in the day before the docks get crowded (i.e., there will be more room for you to dock).

Here are a few recommended family-friendly restaurants to check out:

Safety While Boating

Safety is the most important thing to consider when renting a boat. Always wear a life jacket, no matter how experienced you are on the water.

Boat rental companies will provide life jackets but we always bring our own because my children don't mind wearing their own personal life jackets that they picked out.

You can find their tried and true kid-tested and approved life jackets here. I love the new adult life jackets on the market that are slimmer and more comfortable too.

It's also important to prepare for any emergency that may happen while you're on your boat. Make sure the boat you are renting in Naples has a first aid kit (because we all know someone will need a bandaid), a fire extinguisher, and some type of navigation system. This could be a navigational chart (which most boat rentals in Naples Florida will provide) or you can use your phone for navigating the water.

This is the first aid kit that we bring with us on all of our family trips.

I hope this post was helpful for deciding on where to find boat rentals in Naples Florida. If you have had a great experience at another boat rental in Naples Florida that is not listed, then please let me know so that I can share it with other readers.
