I am so excited to share with you our family vacation recap of The Don Cesar. It was a wonderful few days spent exploring the iconic pink hotel and soaking up the sun.
Our kids really enjoyed their time swimming in the pool and exploring the beautiful grounds. From the moment we checked in we knew this would be a memorable getaway!
Check-in was a breeze and everyone at the check-in counter was super friendly. My kids were given sunglasses and sea-themed stuffed animals which made our trip extra special.
Once we were given our room keys (stretch fabric wristbands) we quickly found our room and we were excited to find out that we had large connecting rooms which made our stay feel super spatial and roomy. We had plenty of room to move and lounge around.

We really enjoyed the whole vibe of the room and hotel grounds. The room itself seemed like it was a modern version of the 20s but with a classic old Florida component (not sure if that's the correct decor description but it was my interpretation). Everything was extremely tasteful and classy.

We spent most of our time by the pool since that's what the kids prefer but I'm a sucker for a gorgeous beach. Sooooo.... I begged the family to enjoy the beach with me for a little bit.
The water was perfect and the beach attendants were very attentive and helped our family find the perfect spot. The kids enjoyed the water stations throughout the beach and pool area since they were self-serve.

Dining at the Don Cesar was easy, meaning that we weren't worried that we didn't have a reservation. We arrived early at the Society Table, were quickly seated, and had a delicious meal. They offered typical kid's fare for dinner, but nonetheless, everyone enjoyed their meal and it was the perfect time to recap our day.
Room service wasn't offered during our stay, which is kind of a bummer since we love to have at least one meal delivered, but it wasn't a deal breaker.
The Maritana restaurant requires advance reservations so if you are in the mood for more upscale dining, then definitely check this restaurant out. It's located in the hotel lobby.

My kids enjoyed looking at the different gift shops and wandering around the grounds. We found the market "Uncle Andy's market" which offered many different beverages and snack items. There were premade food offerings and several sweets for sale. It's a good idea to grab a sweet treat there after dinner and then you can take it to your hotel room.
We checked out early on Sunday and quickly found out that the gift store didn't open till after we were leaving so definitely get your retail therapy in before checking out.

Overall, we had a great time at the "Don" and I totally recommend this hotel for families who live in Florida or who are traveling to the Sunshine State.
The pool alone kept my kids occupied but there are other activities that they provide throughout the day. Plus, it's a great backdrop for all of your Florida-inspired pictures!

Q+A
PARKING
The Don Cesar offers self-park or valet parking. We opted for valet because it was easier
when pulling up the hotel to just hand off the keys to the valet.
WHY DID WE CHOOSE THE DON CESAR?
We had family recommend The Don Cesar to us so we took their advice. We are so
happy we did because it's truly an iconic hotel to visit.
DID WE FEEL LIKE THERE WERE PLENTY OF ACTIVITIES?
Yes! We are an active family and my kids were able to run around the pool and beach area and explore The Don Cesar. They never said they were "bored" nor did I hear any complaints about the rooms. They actually wanted to spend some time in their room since the beds were comfortable and they were able to move around.
WHAT TO PACK WITH YOU WHEN VISITING THE DON CESAR
Beach Accessories: hat, beach bag, sunscreen (our favorite), coverup, swimsuits, sandals
Travel Accessories: luggage, tote bag, bathroom organizer, jewelry organizer
Outfits: casual resort wear- When I'm traveling to a resort in Florida, I tend to pack items some of my favorite brand items like Lilly Pulitzer and J. McLaughlin. I also pack items that are light and bright, loose-fitting, and natural materials.
